Born in New York City, Mr. Becker grew up in Connecticut. He attended Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut on a baseball scholarship, earning his undergraduate degree in history. He now has firm roots in Alabama, having earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, graduating cum laude in 1996. He has lived in Birmingham for more than twenty-five years.

Following law school, Mr. Becker served as a law clerk to Justice Janie L. Shores, the first woman to serve on the Alabama Supreme Court. Thereafter, he worked as a career law clerk and staff attorney for three members of the bench of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama: Chief Magistrate Judge John E. Ott, Chief Magistrate Judge Paul W. Greene, and District Judge H. Dean Buttram, Jr. Mr. Becker is a member of the Alabama State Bar and has practiced with Glenda Cochran Associates for three years, representing clients in the state and federal courts of Alabama, at both the trial and appellate levels. His extensive and diverse experience working on a wide range of cases and researching complex legal issues affords him a unique perspective into how to best serve our clients.
